Electric vehicles (EVs) need to reach near-complete adoption quickly to meet U.S. and global climate goals. That means that many low-income and disadvantaged consumers must become early adopters. Creative businesses, nonprofits, and government programs are helping them do so by advancing innovations in technology, business models, and policies. The federal government can add to the momentum by revising the EV tax credit and strengthening key infrastructure programs.
