VW Settlement and Transportation Electrification Update

Now that the Trust Effective Date has been set, we thought it would be helpful to share an update on state actions to use VW settlement funds for zero emission vehicles and EV charging. Links to each speaker’s PowerPoint presentations is provided inline below.

Nick Nigro from Atlas Public Policy kicked things off with a status of state activities using information we’ve been collecting for the Atlas EV Hub. We’ve also lined up speakers to share an update from their perspectives, including:

• Zach Kahn, BYD
• Cassie Powers, NASEO
• Kellen Schefter, Edison Electric Institute

We reserved the end of the meeting for a general forum for the community to share information with each other. One topic that came up was what to do with our group as the near-term deadlines for the settlement expire. Participants suggested we work to identify good practices, share lessons learned on funding programs, and raise awareness about new technologies. Please let us know if you have suggestions on what would be most valuable for this group to do.
