This study aims to access the impacts of incorporating electrification of other economic sectors (and hydrogen production) into a carbon constrained electricity system across the state of Colorado. It is hypothesized that electrifying other sectors while decarbonizing the electricity system will enable Colorado to exceed its economy-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions targets through 2040. In addition, decarbonizing through electrifying other sectors will result in lower electricity rates for all customers.
